Description

Aquaculture is the fastest growing industry which directly contribute to a country’s economy growth and development. However, guaranteeing aquaculture sustainability of water environment is a huge challenge faced in most countries due to the direct environmental impact of aquaculture activities. The increased of public demand for contamination free seafood as well as decreasing natural marine habitats have encouraged the growth of blue biotechnology. Blue biotechnology can be defined as utilization of marine and fresh-water bioresources at their full potential as the objective of using molecular biology, microbial ecology in fresh-water and marine organisms to obtain beneficial advances for sustainable aquaculture.

In this Special Issue, we have decided to restrict the scope to future aquaculture technology for sustainable aquaculture. We invite scientists to submit original research papers, short communications, and review articles on, but not limited to, aquatic biology, biotechnology and aquatic microbiology, highlighting their potentials as an imperative commitment towards addressing these aquaculture challenges and biodiversity conservation. Insights for marine and freshwater environments, from all nations are welcome in this issue.
